I think We'll Finish in the Bottom Half

I'm not just saying that because of today's abject display, our form has gotten worse since the Chelsea away. We have up next four London derbies against sides that are better than us on paper and form and I can't see us picking up anything more than a point.
The early promise scuppered because of bad managerial decisions which are well documented on here will see is finish 11th or lower in my opinion.

Tips, everyone I know uses "gotten". And I'm as American as you are.
Anyway, my opinion hasn't changed and it's not based on the WBA game. Sam seems to almost sabotage games. Chelsea was the start of the decline starting Nolan and Noble and leaving Song on the bench. We've one 1-10 games and the next four games will leave that as more.

Alex, the odd team out above us is Southampton and that is because of their academy successes making money for the club. Spurs too have got lucky with the Bale windfall to help them. Six of the seven teams above us are richer and can simply out spend/out wage us and this is reflected in the standard of their respective squads.

Agreed. Thing is, the board may well say that on transfer spend we should be top 6 though. They seemed to hint as much last Summer.

Fulham once finished 8th with 49 points and Everton once got as many as 62 points to finish 8th. There is a great variation.
All of us know that we have not got a top six squad and to think that we could maintain a place amongst the top six is delusional. The most optimistic of us thought 8th was just about achievable this season though.

Last year 7th place was 64 points. To beat that we'd need 9 wins from the remaining 13.

So where should we be finishing in the table. What would people be happy with. Top half. Top 6, Champions league spot?
What's the level of expectations here.
Expectation = top 10
Realising the opportunity we had this year? 6th - 8th.
All of that said, our net transfer outlay has been in the Top 4 for the last 3 seasons, so if everybody thinks the League is about investment, we've invested more than most.

I think mid table would be about our level. If we played the diamond again I think 8th spot should be our aim.

The fixture list was set at the start of the season. Even Sullivan said we have a good run at the end to get as many points as we can.
It's as if people have just realised what it takes, and completely ignored the fact we still had to face top sides before Xmas.

The worse we finish Sam can blame fatigue on the glorious cup run and the lack of the annual trip to Dubai. Next season we will get knocked out in the first round as per.

Pub Bigot. The fact that you use the word 'gotten', seems to indicate that you're American, as the word is never used in British English.
That's enough to not bother reading your reasons. :-)

And whilst you’re making a point about Southampton being a ‘top 4 side’ – they lost all their best players in the summer, and their manager, and have only been able to name 6 substitutes for many of their recent games.
Haven’t heard anyone from there complaining about fatigue or suggesting that their performance levels are ‘dangerous’.

BFS will want to finish as high as possible to make it as difficult as possible for any successor to better his achievement. It is the nature of the beast.
You can imagine him banging on if he achieves our highest points total / finish in the Premier League.

He should have prioritised the cup if he's incapable of getting a team to play 3 games in a week.
